Customized Maintenance

Background

A global leader in the rail equipment manufacturing and servicing industry asked Enics for support in the maintenance of a fleet of locomotives belonging to one of their customers. This included the maintenance of the vehicle control, drive control, brake and communication electronics. The very high public profile of the customer’s products requires a level of reliability and safety approaching that of aircraft. The customer looked for a partner who could fulfill these very demanding and complex maintenance needs.


Challenge

The complexity of the maintenance services, coupled with the large project size, required special project management and logistics solutions. In addition, the customer had stringent requirements regarding short turnaround times since vehicle downtime would cause very high fees.


Solution

Enics met the challenge by building a special project team. Team members were chosen based on their many years of experience with professional maintenance services, as well as their knowledge of the customer’s systems and products.
